National Plan For Vacation Day

National Plan for Vacation Day is an initiative spearheaded by the U.S. Travel Association that encourages Americans to take their vacation days. The idea is to set aside a date to plan at the beginning of the year so that your year doesn’t sneak up on you with wasted vacation days left on the table. According to the U.S. Travel Association, more than half of Americans did not use all of their vacation days in 2018. With one of our guiding principles being “family first” and one of our specialties being destination marketing, we are passionate about our team members taking time off to spend with their families while gaining inspiration from the destinations they visit.

Here’s where our team plans to visit in 2020!

Shantelle P. Dedicke, CMP
President/Chief Creative Officer

Owning a business means it truly owns us, so our big vacations are on hold for now. However, we are ALL about the staycation! Over Valentine's weekend, my husband and I are staying in Rosemary Beach (about 45 minutes from our home in Niceville) and checking off a bunch of food and beverage spots as well as some much-needed beach and sunset time. Our house is always open for those (family and friends) who want to visit us throughout the year!

Janae Erickson, Art Director

Our first trip this year is to the Great Wolf Lodge near Atlanta GA - an indoor waterpark with tons of fun for kiddos. I am most excited for a Disney wedding we are going to in October, where we will spend the week at Disneyworld! It'll be Mark's first trip (age 21 months) and it'll be Dane's 5th trip (age 4)! We are also trying to work in a trip to Lafayette, Indiana around Christmas to see family.

Hillaree Durso, Content Director

Since I went on a bucket list trip last year to Italy, this year I am going to Disney World with the family in February and then staying put and to save my money for my next bucket list adventure!

Kelsey Doar, Marketing Manager

I’m so excited we’re vacationing back to the States (from Japan) this year. We will be traveling to Louisiana and taking a cruise out of New Orleans while we visit. I’m excited to unplug and spend quality time with family for a week. I’ll be using National Plan for Vacation Day to plan what we will do (and eat!) in New Orleans and the excursions we will take on our cruise!

Jodie Warner, Research Coordinator

My husband is a more “fly by the seat of your pants” person, so we have nothing planned besides a few trips to Universal Studios a few times this year. I hope to have another one come up though!

Gregory Dedicke, Copywriter

I would really love to visit Ireland this year - spend some time in Dublin pubs and tour some cliffs and castles.

Kayla Koger, Art Assistant

My family and I plan to visit St. Lucia Island over the summer. We love to spend our vacations in the sun and want to try the Sandals All-Inclusive Resort there. We are BIG Sandals fans and we love the beach!
